Travel Notes
Seattle is about a ten hour drive from Boise, if you include stops from meals
Snoqualmie Falls is a nice place to visit when you drive to Seattle. Of course, don't miss the Seattle Center once you get to Seattle. There you can visit the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Children's Museum, and the Science Fiction Museum

Site Notes
The Pacific Science Center consists of five buildings, water gardens (Water Works), and two IMAX theaters. The planetarium has three shows (noon, 3:00, and 4:00) and there are three live science demonstations daily. The museum has dinosaur animatronics and two dinosaur skulls with jaws you can operate. There's a large childrens playroom in the museum with large chess and checkers tables on the floor. You can put yourself into a virtual world or on television reporting the weather. The insect display has insects like a Black Widow for you to see. The butterfly room is a closed environment with many non-native species of butterflies that you can walk amongst. The Salt Water Tide Pool is essentially a petting zoo for sea cucumbers, anenomes, and star fish. The electronic music display has the worlds largest electric guitar and a theremin. Learn how simple machines and the zipper work. The Water Works has water cannons that visitors shoot at targets in thge ponds.

There is food service available outside the museum and a caferteria inside. Outside the cafeteria, but still inside the Pacific Science Center, are benches if you want to eat outside.

The gift shop is well stocked with small telescopes, stuffed toys (including germs!), games and puzzles, science kits, t-shirts, flying toys, video tapes, post cards, and Einstein memorbilia. Since Grossology was their current temporary display, the gift shop had a promenient display of Grossology items.

Paul’s Favorite
I like dinosaurs. So when I saw the animitronic dinosaurs, I was impressed. Seeing life-sized dinosaurs moving around brings back memories of my youth in the Mesozoic. I also liked the Theremin, but it wasn't as loud or responsive as I was hoping.
